False Narratives and Other Irritations(50:52)
|
First, Josh discusses a new docu-drama, “Sabena Hijacking — My Version,” about the 1972 terrorist attack. One of the Israeli-Arab actors portraying a hijacker says the terrorists ought to be called “fighters,” not “terrorists.”
Then, Josh talks about American Jewish organizations condemning those accusing Senator Chuck Schumer and other Jewish officials of “dual loyalty” for opposing the nuclear deal.
Then, Josh calls New York Times columnist Tom Friedman to task for his piece “If I were an Israeli,” which basically says Israel’s leaders should not only give Obama a chance and support the nuclear deal, but also turn over territory to the PA for the establishment of a Palestinian state.
Then, Josh raises the leaked document showing that PA officials have been lining their pockets at the expense of the citizens living under their control. He wonders whether the Palestinian street will express its resentment publicly or fear the wrath of the PA.
Finally, Josh is joined in-studio by VOI summer intern Rachel Frommer. Frommer, a resident of New Jersey and a Touro College senior, says she has learned a lot from this experience about journalism and on how to defend against anti-Israel bias. She hopes to immigrate to Israel upon completion of her studies and pursue a career in journalism or public diplomacy.
