VOI's Yishai Fleisher is joined by Aryeh Tepper to talk about Yemenite Jewry, and by MK Rachel Azaria, about her grandmother's aliyah.
There are some 90 Jews living in Yemen, the remainder of a once-legendary community which, almost like no other, preserved the original Jewish traditions. Dr. Aryeh Tepper, editor of The Sefardi Report and a teacher of Jewish thought and Israel Studies, discusses Yemenite culture, music and allure.
Then, Rachel Azaria, a member of Knesset for the Kulanu party — and former deputy mayor of Jerusalem — tells Yishai about her 90-year-old grandmother, who has finally immigrated to Israel as one of the 221 new immigrants who arrived today on a Nefesh B’Nefesh flight.
Finally, Yishai hears from Knesset insider Jeremy Saltan about Israel’s response to the nuclear deal with Iran.
