The Politics of Israel's Survival
15 February 2023VOI's Dan Diker is joined in-studio by retired Brigadier-General Yossi Kuperwasser, outgoing director-general of Israel's Strategic Affairs Ministry, who underscores the "extreme danger" of the current state of Iran's nuclear program. Kuperwasser says that a compromise deal with the US-led P5+1 would leave the Iranian regime within a short sprint to the nuclear finish line. This, he claims, would force Israel to act militarily.
Then, Dan opines on the nature of Israel's current impasse with the White House, quoting Nobel Prize laureate Elie Wiesel and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, who insist that PM Benjamin Netanyahu's speech before the US Congress will be essential to stopping the Iranian Regime.
Finally, VOI's Palestinian Affairs analyst Bassem Eid assesses the Iranian regime's dangerous rapprochement with Hamas -- which has been making moves to rebuild its terror infrastructure in Gaza and the West Bank, with Iranian assistance.
