In the wake of reports of a plot by Palestinian terrorists to assassinate Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman during last summer's Gaza war, a leading Israeli terror expert says the plot, had it succeeded, would have ignited the region.
"If there is such an incident that such a high figure is attacked, then it's almost guaranteed that the conflict would have erupted very forcefully," says Yoram Schweitzer,
Senior Research Fellow, head of the Program on Terrorism and Low Intensity Conflict at The Institute for National Security Studies (INSS).
