VOI’s Molly Livingstone is joined by the Ethiopian National Project’s Elsa Almo and Grace Rodnitzky to discuss the community in Israel.
The Ethiopian National Project (ENP) unites global Jewry, the Israeli government and the Ethiopian-Israeli community in its mission to advance the integration of Ethiopian-Israelis into Israeli society. Elsa Almo, ENP’s internship and marketing coordinator, and Grace Rodnitzky, its director of international relations, recount the history of the Ethiopian community, from living as Jews in Africa to their struggle and success in Israel. Elsa, a member of that community, shares her family’s story of persecution and the journey by foot from Ethiopia to their homeland in the Jewish state. She also discusses the question of whether racism is an issue in Israeli society. listen now
