Is the Next Theodor Herzl an Ex-Muslim Gay Atheist from Afghanistan?

16 February 2023

Nemat Sadat says being an ex-Muslim gay, atheist and Zionist from Afghanistan has left him disowned by his community, family and nation. He has received thousands of death threats; has lost his job as a professor; and fears being designated as a criminal under Islamic law. In this intimate interview, VOI's Molly Livingstone finds out why he wants the world to stop justifying Muslim radicalization and Islamic violence, and why he thinks Israel should win the Nobel Peace prize.
