Left and Right Create New Political Alliances

Israel's largest political parties, Likud and Yesh Atid each blame the other for the breakup of Israel's governing coalition. Deputy Defense Minister Tzachi Hanegbi (Likud) tells VOI's Raoul Wootliff that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a courageous decision to go to early elections. Yesh Atid Knesset Member Dov Lipman counters by saying the move was unnecessary and harmful to Israel.

Then, with reports of a new political alliance between Tzipi Livni's Hatnua party and Labor, Knesset Member Nachman Shai (Labor) tell's Newsroom VOI that his party is ready for elections and plans to replace the current government.

Plus, Jewish Home party Chairman Naftali Bennett tells the Saban Forum that while he disagrees with some of Netanyahu's policies, he is committed to forming a strong political alliance with the incumbent prime minister.
