Babies, Boxing and Chabad(50:30)
|
The unique atmosphere of Israeli hospitals, and interviews with Gilad Haroz, sponsor of boxer Jackie Gosh, and Lubavitch Rabbi Moshe Kasinetz.
First, VOI’s Mottle Wolfe fills in for Ari Abramowitz and Jeremy Gimpel for a discussion with Yishai Fleisher and Raoul Wootliff about the meaningful experience of accompanying their wives through childbirth in Israel.
Then, Ari and Jeremy interview Haroz — friend and supporter of Muslim Israeli sports star Jackie Gosh. He discusses the boxer’s life devoted to Islam and Zionism — Gosh even carries the Israeli flag into the ring — and explains why that combination need not be so rare.
Finally, Ari and Jeremy hear from Rabbi Kasinetz, founder of the Orthodox community of Livingston, NJ, who describes the early years of Chabad. He gives an inside look into the movement’s evolution from a handful of families in Brooklyn at the beginning of the 20th century into the worldwide phenomenon it is today.
