The Nobel ‘Price’ of Peace and Nuclear Negotiations(50:42)
|
Dan Diker is joined by Mideast expert Martin Sherman and former Pentagon official Harold Rhode to discuss different aspects of Western weakness.
First, Sherman, who has a weekly column in the Jerusalem Post, assesses that Israeli land concessions — such as those that won prime ministers Menachem Begin, Yitzhak Rabin and Shimon Peres the Nobel Peace Prize — have weakened the Jewish state and continue to erode its deterrence.
Then, Rhode — an expert on Iran — asserts that the US-led Western powers’ misunderstanding of Iranian negotiating behavior has severely handicapped them, which will likely lead to a disastrous nuclear deal with the Islamic Republic.
