NY Times Jerusalem Bureau Chief Rudoren Defends Her Israel Coverage
18 February 2023VOI's Josh Hasten is joined in-studio by NY Times Jerusalem Bureau Chief Jodi Rudoren. Rudoren, who defends her reporting of the conflict as non-partisan, says that media watchdogs critical of her Israel coverage base their critique on their own personal "scorecards," not on journalistic values. One example: Her coverage of Palestinian rock-throwing, which she has been accused of romanticizing.
Then, Dr. Itzchak Weismann -- an expert on modern Islam and jihad at Haifa University -- says that while ISIS may not have the strongest military, what makes it so dangerous is its ideology, which attracts young people.
Finally, director of the Shomron Liaison Office David Ha'ivri talks about the tragic death of four-year-old Adele Biton, a victim of a rock attack two years ago. Though she died of complications from pneumonia, her parents say there is no doubt that her death stems from her original severe injury.
