Molly Livingstone is joined in-studio by animal therapist Amy Baranes, and a mother whose daughter’s pain was alleviated through the love of animals.
Baranes describes the unique therapy animals provide. This includes the comfort a child experiences around a living being that passes no judgement and the benefits of a child having to take responsibility for another being. Mandy (surname withheld) enters the conversation to share her personal story. A mother-of-two who left her native South Africa after her husband was murdered in front of her and her children, Mandy relocated to Israel, the Jewish homeland, for a new start. She recounts how her daughter underwent a successful rehabilitation with the help of animal love. listen now
