Confronting Terror and Israel’s Natural Resources(50:33)
VOI’s Josh Hasten is joined by Marc Prowisor, director of security for the One Israel Fund. Prowisor, who was at the scene of last night’s terror attack, in which four Israelis were wounded, one critically, says that the Israeli government is not using all the tools at its disposal to prevent such incidents. He claims that the key is showing the terrorists Israel’s strength, and refusing to capitulate to their attempts at instilling fear.
Then, Josh is joined by VOI political correspondent Raoul Wootliff to discuss the intricate details of the current government legislation on Israel’s natural gas resources. He says lawmakers are trying to work out a system according to which the two controlling companies — Noble Energy and Delek — don’t monopolize the market, while at the same time figuring out how to create the most efficient revenue flow and benefit for the country as a whole.
Finally, Josh is joined by Knesset insider Jeremy Saltan to talk about recent reports indicating that Jewish Home party leader Education Minister Naftali Bennett believes Israel must reach a deal with Hamas. Bennett supports such a move, in order to oversee the civilian rehabilitation of Gaza, while disarming the terrorist organization that runs it. Saltan says Bennett is concerned that even more extreme jihadist elements could take over Gaza.
