Jews, Lost and Found(50:32)
|
Freund, founder and chairman of Shavei Israel, an organization that searches for and helps the “Lost Tribes of Israel” return to their homeland, tells about why and how he started this mission and how his relationship with it has changed over time. He also shares his experiences traveling across the world to find lost tribes, and describes what it is like for those who have settled in Israel. He believes the explanation for the phenomenon is that there is a global awakening on the part of Jews wanting to connect to their roots. For more information: http://www.shavei.org/.
Then, Ari and Jeremy are joined by Faranak Margolese, author of “Off the Derech,” a book about contemporary assimilation in the Orthodox world. Faranak traveled all over the world to research the reasons for the phenomenon of observant Jews leaving the fold, and to understand what their chances are for returning. She discusses how parents transmit the love of God and other values to their children.
